TRAVEL BY ROAD

It is anticipated that, given the high number of spectators likely to attend The Open Championship, the road network in and around Lytham St Annes will be busy. Lancashire Constabulary is urging all motorists to use the designated traffic routes, all of which will be clearly signed by the AA.

If visitors are travelling from outside Lancashire, please use the M6 and travel to junction 32. At this junction, follow the M55 for Blackpool.

All public cars and coaches should continue on the M55 until they reach signs instructing them to leave the motorway. Signs will direct drivers to the appropriate car parks.

Drivers with Reserved parking labels should follow the appropriate colour coded ‘Open’ signs along the M55.

Those ignoring the identified routes are likely to experience lengthy delays.

PARK AND RIDE

Designated routes will lead to Park and Ride faclilities operating from all Public car parks. These facilities will reduce delays, allowing motorists to travel free to and from the course on the dedicated buses provided. Lancashire police officers will be on hand to assist with these journeys.

The Constabulary encourages spectators to use the Park and Ride facilities to minimise disruption to local traffic and ensure a swift transfer to the Championship.

PARKING CHARGES

Weekly Car Parking labels are available at a cost of £60.00. Weekly labels are only available in advance from The R&A and are subject to availability.

Daily Public car parking, payable in advance or on arrival only, will cost £10.00 from Sunday 15 to Tuesday 17 July and £15.00 from Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 July.

Daily coach parking, payable on arrival only, will cost £40.00.

TRAVEL BY AIR

A Helicopter landing site, operated by Helimates (UK) Ltd, will be available at Blackpool Airport during the week of The Open Championship. For further details, please telephone 07890 026682.
